Summary
We are looking to fill one high part-time to full-time, non-exempt, hourly position (30-40hrs/wk), which includes all aspects of maintaining the daily operation of the Riverwest Co-op Café, while working with cooperatively with staff.
The café is building back into an active neighborhood eating/gathering place, but also a profitable enterprise. We are seeking the right individual who has the vision, time and talent to develop with out team this very unique Riverwest venue.
General Duties
Preparing / cooking menu and deli items
Serving in an efficient and friendly manner.
Monitoring the quality of food served.
Keeping the kitchen clean during and after one’s shift.
Provide support to other staff
Participation in Café(monthly) & Workers(weekly) Collective meetings; this creates a culture of workplace democracy in the café and store.
What we are looking for
Line and Prep cooking experience (familiarity with vegan & vegetarian food highly desirable).
Commitment to the co-op ideal of workplace Democracy (whereby all workers share responsibility for making the café function smoothly).
Self-motivated and ability to make quick decisions.
Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers and customers, and be open to feedback.
Ability to follow established standard operating procedures.
Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.
Pay and Benefits
Starting Wage is $15/hour, plus tips
Paid biweekly.
