Tribute to the Spaghetti Dinner
Our annual spaghetti dinner is a tradition that pre-dates the Co-op opening its doors. What began as a fundraiser to get the Co-op started became one of our most beloved gatherings, offering the community a chance to break bread together, support the Co-op, and enjoy each other’s company.
Unfortunately, COVID precautions and our continuing concern for the safety and well-being of our neighbors, staff, and volunteers make our regular spaghetti dinner an impossibility for now.
However, like much of the world and our lives, we can pivot and adapt and embrace the circumstances, and try to do something that at least gives us a little bit of togetherness.
After long weeks of deliberation, we’ve decided to hold a Tribute to the Spaghetti Dinner. A week-long in-store promotion, to offer specials on the ingredients you need to create your own at-home spaghetti dinner, plus some bonus items from our Cafe, leading up to a Zoom livestream of Trio du Monde, in which we can all virtually chat since we can’t chat in person.
We know this isn’t what you’re used to. But we’re hoping we can still share fellowship with our community even if it’s only through a computer screen.
In-store promotions will include 10% off jarred pasta sauces, packages of pasta, nutritional yeast, and more. Look for signs to point you to the Tribute specials during the week of January 24th through January 30th. The cafe will have their own vegan sauce in the grab-n-go coolers, and are cooking up some other treats for the Tribute as well.
Trio du Monde will perform Saturday, January 30th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Zoom link will be provided closer to the date. You can get a sneak peak of their past Spaghetti Dinner performances here, thanks to the Riverwest Currents. You can also check out the great article our volunteer Josie wrote last January to promote the event, here. Don’t forget to RSVP to this year’s event on Facebook so you can get updates!
